How we use your personal data
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- Responding to enquiries and quotations — to provide product information, pricing and availability. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
- Providing and managing our services — including follow-up communication, order handling and after-sales support. Lawful basis: performance of a contract or our legitimate interests in operating our business.
- Improving our website and product offering — through analytics measuring how visitors use the site. Lawful basis: your consent (analytics cookies) and our legitimate interests (aggregate statistics).
- Complying with legal obligations — such as tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Direct marketing — we will only send you marketing communications where you have given us prior written consent, or where you are an existing customer and the message concerns similar products. You may withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time.
International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside Ghana — primarily in the United States and the European Union. Where personal data is transferred outside Ghana, we ensure an adequate level of protection through appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses and equivalent technical and organisational measures.
You may request further information about the safeguards we apply by contacting us at privacy@algenuineproducts.com.
How long we keep your data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:
- Enquiry and quote data — up to 24 months from last contact, unless a contract is entered into, in which case we retain the data for the duration of the relationship and any statutory retention period thereafter.
- Analytics data — up to 14 months, in aggregate and pseudonymised form where possible.
- Financial records — for the period required by applicable Ghanaian tax and accounting law.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access — request confirmation of whether we hold personal data about you, and obtain a copy of that data.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

- Complain — lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@algenuineproducts.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
